Parental involvement in the preschool is a cornerstone of UUM Preschool’s educational policy. The children have much to gain from the talents and skills of many people. Parents are a vital part of the program. They take turns assisting in the classroom, as well as contributing a specific number of out-of-class hours each school year. A consequence of this liaison is that parents have a decided impact on the direction and growth of UUMP, and make it very responsive to the needs and interest of the children served. UUMP is hopeful that this parenting experience is a rewarding one that nurtures new ideas and relationships derived from the classroom, other parents, newsletters and discussion groups.
